Luzerne County offers residents the opportunity to experience two completely different worlds right within its borders. Luzerne County also offers its inhabitants a safe and enlightening place to live. This area has the eleventh lowest crime rate in the country when compared to 354 major metropolitan areas. It is also ranked in the top 70 in both health care and education. Six colleges and universities provide county residents with a wide array of educational opportunities.
